Outdoor Patio Heaters - Gas, Electric, Free Standing and Table Top Garden Patio Heaters
Patio Heaters
Welcome to the Patio Heaters page, if you are the outdoor type then you will be familiar with the disappointment of the summer weather drawing to a close (even here in the UK!). There is however a solution that can extend your time in the garden on the patio and that is a garden patio heater, these heat the patio area and come in many different types. There are two main choices which are the type of fuel that powers the patio heater and the size of the patio heater, the fuel types you can buy are gas and electric and the sizes are free standing, wall mounted and table top.
Each fuel has it's advantages with garden patio heaters so it depends on what you need, the gas patio heaters are easier to place as they have no power cable but will need to be refueled with a new bottle of propane gas. The electric patio heaters however will never need refueling as they are attached to the power supply are are easier to use but they are restricted in where you can place them because of the power cable.
The size of the patio heater is also important and they can be deceptive in the amount of heat they they can produce, for example the large free standing outdoor patio heaters have a range of around 25 metres so can heat a very large area but they do not look that big. There are also smaller outdoor patio heaters such as the wall mounted and table top patio heaters, the table top patio heaters are great as they are very portable and you can move them around as you like. The wall mounted patio heaters are also very good as they are very low maintenance, they are usually electric and have weather proof casing so can be left outdoors all year round.
There are a few features to look out for when buying a garden patio heater, most free standing patio heaters have a tilt cut off feature that turns it off should it be knocked over. The free standing patio heaters also usually have wheels so you can tilt it onto one side and push it around the garden should you wish to move it. There are also some accessories that you can buy that are useful, a cover is essential if the patio heater is going to be left outdoors in the garden in the winter.
