A high definition LCD television has to have a very high resolution to be able to call itself a high definition LCD television so the on screen quality will be very high, lots of LCD televisions are high definition and this is usually clearly stated so if you are buying an LCD television it is a very good idea to buy one that is high definition as the gain in on screen quality will be well worth buying the high definition model. There is one important thing to remember though and that is that to view the high definition quality you have to be using a high definition source such as a high definition DVD or digital television that is broadcast in high definition, if what you are viewing is not produced in high definition then the television will not be able to display the high definition quality and the picture will not be as good. There are also other features that are worth looking for when buying an LCD television, the speakers are important but this depends on if you are to be using a home cinema system.
