Digital and DVD Camcorders - Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Canon, Samsung,
Hitachi and other Digital Camcorders
Digital Camcorders
Welcome to the Digital Camcorders
page, Camcorders have come a long way un recent years with
the fall of the analogue camcorder and the birth of the digital
camcorder. Digital camcorders are much better as the quality
is allot better and the camcorders are allot smaller, the
quality of the recordings from a digital camcorder is amazing
and there is a large price range so there should be a digital
camcorder for everyone's budget. There are lots of digital
camcorders that you can buy online and there are lots if shops
that offer cheap digital camcorders, we have listed lots of
camcorders on this page which include cheap digital camcorder.
There are also lots of brands that offer digital camcorders
including Sony, JVC, Samsung, Canon, Panasonic and Hitachi.
There are several different types of digital
camcorder with the main differences being how they record
the video and sound, camcorders that you can buy include DV,
DVD and HDD camcorders. The DV camcorders use small tapes
to record the video and sound and DVD camcorders record directly
onto a blank DVD, DVD camcorders are better as the DVD offers
more functionality such as being able to instantly access
recordings using thumbnails with a menu like on DVD's that
you buy in shops and being able to easily edit the recordings
on your PC.
The best camcorders are the HDD camcorders though as they
have an internal hard drive which is a large storage device
that is just like the hard drive in your PC. Having a HDD
camcorder means that you do not have to use any media such
as tapes and blank DVD' which makes using the camcorder much
easier and the hard drive is usually very large so you can
store huge amounts of recordings with HDD camcorders often
offering 30+ hours of recording.
One of the most important features to look for when
buying a digital camcorder is the zoom that the camcorder has,
camcorders have two types of zoom which are the optical and digital
zooms. The one to look out for though is the optical zoom which
is the 'real' zoom, as in it actually moves the lens to zoom and
keeps the image crystal clear. The digital zoom uses computer
technology to artificially zoom the image so does not offer the
same quality as the optical zoom, most camcorders have an optical
and digital zoom and will state the magnification like x20 which
means that the maximum zoom of that camcorder will make the image
20 times larger. Zoom can be very useful when using a camcorder
as when you are far away from something you wish to record then
you will need to use the zoom, you should always buy the digital
camcorder that has the largest optical zoom that you can afford
and then see the digital zoom as more of a bonus and a feature
that you could use but only if you really need to as the quality
of the image will suffer.
There are also lots of other things to look out for when you buy
a digital camcorder with an important consideration being the
LCD screen, most camcorders have an LCD screen but the sizes vary
and you are better off buying a digital camcorder with an LCD
screen. LCD screens are very useful as it means you can film without
having to use the viewfinder and also allow you to access menu
controls easily and watch the video that you have just recorded.
There are lots of brands that offer digital camcorders with an
LCD screen including Samsung, Sony, Canon, JVC, Panasonic and
Hitachi.
Another cool feature is an image stabiliser which compensates
for any hand movements you may make while you are filming giving
you very steady video and a more professional finnish. An image
stabiliser is especially useful when you are zooming as the movements
become much more apparent so if you zoom allot then an image stabiliser
is worth looking out for when you buy a digital camcorder.
Most digital camcorders also function as a digital camcorder so
you can easily take digital photos using the digital camcorder,
this is very useful as it means you do not need to carry a digital
camera with you and as the camcorders have larger storage capacity
you can take many more digital photos.
So when buying a digital camcorder online there is allot to choose
from, the main choice is the storage format with DV, DVD and HDD
being popular options. Features such as the LCD screen and the
level of optical zoom are also important and there are lots of
brands that offer digital camcorders such as Panasonic, Samsung,
JVC, Canon, Sony and Hitachi. We have listed lots of camcorders
on this page which include lots of cheap digital camcorders from
